Our Story
Since I’m inviting you along as we make our house a home, I wanted to begin by sharing a little of our story.
My name is Natalie, and I grew up in a holler in Eastern Kentucky. I come from a long line of educators, deep Appalachian roots, and a family devoted to one another. I met my husband, Jeremy, who is also from a small Kentucky town, in 2013. We welcomed our first baby boy in 2014 and our second in 2016.
We lived in a few different cities, but we always knew we wanted to raise our boys in a small town. We wanted them to grow up surrounded by the same family traditions and sense of community that shaped us. In 2019, we moved to Jeremy’s hometown.
Like most families, we have experienced our share of adversity and triumph, sickness and health, hardships and good fortune. No matter what life has thrown our way, we have always found a way to come through it stronger.
We are also a family of serious animal lovers, with four dogs and two cats adding to the chaos. Our boys are involved in several sports and extracurricular activities, and Jeremy is a middle school football coach. To put it simply, we are busy people.
In 2024, we purchased a home in a well-known neighborhood in our small town. Homes here don’t come on the market often, so when the opportunity came, we jumped on it. The house had excellent bones, and from the beginning, I could see all the potential it held.
We had barely moved in before I started ripping out flooring, painting walls, and rebuilding stairs. I’ve slowly made improvements, one project at a time, and now I’m focused on creating a home that feels authentically ours.
I believe a house can be both beautiful and lived in, and that is exactly what ours is. It’s where we carry on family traditions, host the people we love, and hear the footsteps and laughter of our boys and their friends throughout the house. It isn’t always quiet or perfectly put together, but it is full of life.
